Day one of Ashley’s photography course, first up it was all about shutter speed to capture a coffee splash photo. I started looking at doing it in the kitchen and suddenly you find out how little light there really is and how amazing our eyes are. An iOS app download later and I had a light meter to confirm that the outlook was poor for shutter speed in the kitchen. Getting over fears of the neighbours seeing me I headed outside and setup there.
The composition was limited by the distance I need to drop the cork in the mug so it’s a little low in the frame but I was fun playing with manual mode and having an idea what I was up to. This should be a fun month!
